Grin and Barrett Publishing was created in 2013 from a vision of true independence—an imprint born out of the desire to build, own, and shape a creative legacy without compromise. After establishing Phy-Tur Records LLC as a record label, the next step was clear: create a publishing home where stories, ideas, and meaningful works could be developed and released with freedom, intention, and integrity.

At its core, the imprint was founded on the belief that creative ownership matters. It was never just about publishing books. It was about creating a platform for work that carries weight—stories that inspire, ideas that challenge, and messages that leave a lasting impression. Grin and Barrett Publishing was envisioned as a place where purpose and creativity could meet, and where literary work could be treated not simply as content, but as contribution and legacy.

A broader journey of service, entrepreneurship, and impact shaped that vision. In 2007, We Inspire Inc. was founded as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to encouraging, educating, and empowering individuals and communities through opportunity, growth, and positive transformation. As Founder and Executive Director, my work reinforced a lifelong understanding that words, ideas, and access to meaningful resources can help change lives.

The vision continued to expand over time. In 2020, the d/b/a Phyt4Life was created to strengthen and extend the brand. In 2022, Phyt4Life Radio and Phyt4Christ Radio were launched as platforms dedicated to music, inspiration, and connection. Each step reflected the same underlying commitment: to build independent platforms that uplift, inform, and create lasting value.

Within that larger legacy, Grin and Barrett Publishing stands as the literary expression of that mission.
